In the 2nd round the Ghana Football Association elections entered a runoff after none of the candidates managed to earn a little over 50 votes.
Three of the presidential aspirants entered the next round of voting which includes Kurt Okraku, George Afriyie and Nana Yaw Amponsah.
In the first vote Kurt Okraku earned the most votes with 44, George Afriyie earned 40 votes. Nana Yaw Amponsah got 27 votes whiles only 6 votes was accounted for Fred Pappoe.
The rest of the candidates who happen to be lawyers, Amanda Clinton and George Ankamah Mensah pulled zero votes.
In accordance with the rules, the Ghana FA Presidential election is headed for a second round after none of the candidates polled more than 20 percent.
The Dreams CEO got 59 votes whiles George Afriyie earned 43 votes in the runoff elections. Nana Yaw Amponsah bagged the rest of the 16 votes.
Prior to the elections, there were the Regional Football Associations and Executive Council elections with some shocking results giving credence to the famous ‘fear delegates’ quote.
This marks a historic day in Ghana football as 120 delegates go to the polls to elect a new president for the Ghana Football Association.
